Divided We Stand is a modern heavy rock band that combines haunting melodies, infectious grooves, tightly synched guitar riffs and clean, melodic vocals to create a crowd pleasing experience.

Formed in December 2010, the Knoxville, TN based hard rock band, Divided We Stand began with the vision that music can unite individuals who would otherwise remain separated. The wide range of influences between members, Mike Russell (Drums), Randy Krouse (bass), Jake Wilson (Guitars), Phil Zimny (Guitars/Vocals), and Joe Turner (Lead Vocals) span from Coldplay to Slayer. 

The band released their first recordings titled Civil Unrest, in April 2011. Civil Unrest received airplay weekly on 95.7 The X (WVRX-FM), and also received frequent play on 90.3 The Rock (WUTK). This helped quickly create an impressive local following, and less than one year after forming, DWS began to share the stage with national/international acts including Hoobastank, Pop Evil, All That Remains, SOiL, Mushroomhead, Nonpoint, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace to date.

Divided We Stand released their 5 song EP Deception, recorded at Lakeside Studios with grammy-nominated producer Travis Wyrick on December 6, 2013.

In 2015 DWS went on their first national tour after being picked up by A-Team Entertainment group.  DWS has even won an Akademia music award for best metal song in 2016. They also recorded their new single “New Era” at award winning Spider Studios with Tom Gammalo.
